As for the black magic, I'd have to see one fly to know if it was competitive or not. As far as I know there are none out here on the west coast, or I would have seen one at the contests.

They've only been available as short kits for a few months now, and it takes a little time to build them. I know of a few in that area, but have no idea when any of them will be flying. Right now, my 2 are the only ones that I know of that are flying. Supposedly there will be another ready for the Nats, and Emory just has to install the equipment in his second one. Late this year there should be quite a few flying.

It's competetive....and then some. Everyone I have let fly them has been extremely happy with the way it flies. You have to fly it to appreciate it. You'd be hard pressed to find a better plane, in any form or price range. But then I designed it and I sell it, so I am pretty biased. Ask someone else who's flown it.

But, it's just an old wood roach, how competetive could it be?
