No, the riffle range is about 70 paces inline with the runway. When in the park it just sounds like gun shots echo from across the freeway. It can be a challenge for beginers who needs a good distance to practice lining up with the runway for landing. There is a cinderblock wall with fences on top that seperate the rc field and the riffle range, if you are not careful and keep your eyes peel, you can hit the fence. You almost need to make a 45deg turn and dive the catch the 700' runway or overshoot. But don't worry too much most people don't have any problem with the limitations. You can view the arial map at
