Normally the ESC does not get that hot unless you have a motor with too much power requirement almost meeting the maximum capability of the ESC.. it gets warm to hot but not that much... It may also be because of the bad connector.. to much resistance from the connector can also heat up the ESC since this will have to compensate for the motors requirement..
