Default actiyator overheating

Can anybody answer a couple of questions for me...

i have a walkera NO 39 WITH A 3200 BRUSHLESS AND20A ACTIYATOR, after flying it for about ten mins the actiyator got so hot it fused the connection from the actiyator to the battery connector why does this happen im using a 11.1V 2200Mah lipo battery on the heli, that i believe to be ok for this helicopter

also i have to put a new main shaft on the heli how do i get the pin out that is located under the main drive gear?

If it fused the plug, then you're drawing too much current for the connector to handle, or the connector is bad. It is not likely to be related to the "Actiyator"...

Possibly the contact area on the plug was a little small and possibly corroded. This would increase the resistance across the plug, causing a voltage drop during operation.

For example, If the resistance in the plug causes a 1v voltage drop at 11v at 20 Amps, you'll dissipate 20W of power just through the plug, which means it will get hot enough to melt solder. That's pretty hot ! And all directly where the two bits of metal contact!!!

You may not have such a significant voltage drop, but hopefully the above will illustrate the issue.

Consider some Deans connectors.

Davis is right.. the Walkera plugs are not really that good connectors specially for powerful motors that draw alot of current.. it is better to replace the connectors with deans plugs or gold connects.. this will give better electrical transmission with less resistance the walkera connectors get loose after sometime of usage and increase resistance...

thanks guys for your replies, so you dont think that the actiyator is at fault then!!! i will change the connectors and see what happens, is the actiyator supposed to get hot then as mine gets to hot to handle

thanks

Normally the ESC does not get that hot unless you have a motor with too much power requirement almost meeting the maximum capability of the ESC.. it gets warm to hot but not that much... It may also be because of the bad connector.. to much resistance from the connector can also heat up the ESC since this will have to compensate for the motors requirement..
