Typically, one would would expect the servo plugged into the pitch channel to move regardless of flight mode or swash config when the throttle stick is moved fore/aft.
could be flat pitch curves. i use a JR PCM 10x Heli (JR dedicated this TX to fly only Heli, if you wanted to fly planks you have to buy a 10x Aero and it wont fly helis.....or so some would lead you to belive) for all my planks as well and in order to use Chan 6 for elevator on my 1/4 scale Extra all pitch curves have to be set to 50% in all stick positions (in every flight mode) and then a programmable mix of
Elevator to Pitch takes care of the rest.
with that said, check the pitch curves they could be set for no servo movement the entire travel of the throttle stick.
