I do not tune to any particular temperature but to high of a temperature sure will cut down on the life of and engine. As long as my engines run between 210 to 270 I tune by the way they run. But a temperature gauge sure can keep you from burning up an engine and is a good thing to have. [8D] I do not have any problems tuning mine.
