Default RE: nitro conversion to gasoline

it can be done but the worth of it is alot less than the amount of work or engineering... for this application, alot of guys that fly will convert larger nitro/glows to gas like a Tartan engine or the like, but there are major differances in air and ground engines... youd be better off to build a gasser from one and like mentioned, install a weekwhacker, chainsaw, blower engine on it, and that has its own set of challenges. now are far as cost i ll dissagree completely on cost between a gasser n nitro. say you take a Losi MT2. 650.00 pretty much rtr with decent factory items, add a few hop ups for bling, 50-100, get some spare parts for those Oppsies. 25.00 get a few extra glow plugs, 20.00 grab a couple gallons of nitro so your not out. 50.00 your close to 900.00, there is nothing outrageous about these prices, and if all goes well a couple months later your back to get a few more gallons another 50.00. so you can obtain a grand VERY easy in no time at all with a nitro. fora gasser, they range for starting price of about 700.00 rtr, (firehammer/ new smartech BigFoot) upwards to 1600.00 for say an FG F1 or Marter, or the Harm onroad cars ect. it all depends on WHAT you want to do with it. I personally for a gasser decided on the new HPI Baja. for what i want to do its perfect!!! and 1002.00 delivered to my door TOMORROW!!!!!!!!![sm=cool.gif] [] was just a bit more than the Losi option, BUT, now when you go get 4 gallons of fuel, you pay 100.00 when I go get 4 Gallons of fuel i pay 14.00 if gas is expensive that day....your four gallons will get you about 8-12 hrs pure solid time running, no tuning repairing, solid time running. my four gallons of fuel will get me 18 - 22 hrs run time. just run time, and i dont need to worry about hte other things, like glow plugs dieing/ ignitor batters, not starting, tuning issues. while your doing all of that with your nitro, i ll be making laps, and in the pit to refuel or repair a missed 30 footer into the up on the next mogul... so when it comes to cost, i cant just look at out the door, i need to be aware of next week month yr ect.... this is a long term hobby, but if your only gonna play for the next month or 4, then moneys should even be considered imho.
