don't teach yourself to fly. you might as well take what you have put it in the fire place and use it as kindling, it'll be more productive and you won't risk the publics well being, there isn't much open space in OC. I know I'm being a hypocrite because I taught myself, started on CL, move up to slope soaring and thermal duration then onto power and servral years of Flight simulators among other gaming growing up. There are at least 15 instructor around there. I'd train ya but I'm about 3 hours from there. If for some reason you do try traing yourself I'd recommend a ZAgi slope soarer and chuck it off the cliff
