Default Regulators

Hi Jason:

Happy New Year to you from Jane and I.

Don't know if you heard, but I lost my compo Bandit 3 weeks ago to a regulator failure while on final after an uneventful flight.
It actually got hot enough to melt the shrinkwrap and the foam wrap.

I don't know what brand it was. It came out of one of my old D/F planes.

I have been using the MH in my HS, but since the Bandit crash, I have gone back to no regulator. I am running 6.0v packs directly to the rx now with no jittery servos, even coming off a fast charge like Mike C. has been experiencing. I range checked my planes without the regulator, and they are all beyond 300 ft.

I use the 10x with JR servos, all digital except for the brake and retract valve.

Essentially all of the giant scalers in our area have been using straight 6.0v for years without regulators.

If one decides to use one, I believe the one Tony Tehan produces (MiniHobbies) is of high quality.

For those interested, Tony's website is www.minihobby.com

Regards,

Tom
