Don't know if you heard, but I lost my compo Bandit 3 weeks ago to a regulator failure while on final after an uneventful flight.
It actually got hot enough to melt the shrinkwrap and the foam wrap.

I don't know what brand it was. It came out of one of my old D/F planes.

I have been using the MH in my HS, but since the Bandit crash, I have gone back to no regulator. I am running 6.0v packs directly to the rx now with no jittery servos, even coming off a fast charge like Mike C. has been experiencing. I range checked my planes without the regulator, and they are all beyond 300 ft.
I was told that when the MH regulator fails (if it ever does) it should default to a non-regulated 6.0 volts. Is this true or false?

I'm running one in my hotspot, no jitters, lots of range. I use 2x1400 mAh packs with independent switches, then Y'd into the regulator. I also have a meter in the canopy, watching the combined pack voltage before the regulator.

Thx, and happy new year everyone.
