Default RE: Which engine has the best price/performance/durability?

For best price alone I would definitly have to say the RG motor. At $109 dollars how can you beat it for a cheaper scale motor.

However for Performance and Durability I am going to have to go against the grain and say the RB S5. This is not saying its the best motor out there by any means, but for the trifecta asked above, this would be my choice.

For one, at my local track there are a couple of people that run them and do very well with them. The low end power works great on our small track. Now they are starting to sell new for $199 compared to the $250-$265 they were recently priced at.

To really race the RG you will definitly want to put a cooling head on it which will now put you in the 170-180 area. The RG is a solid motor, but due to the small cooling fins it does run hot. Now you are looking at 180 for the RG compared to 200 for the S5.
