Default RE: Funtana 90 - Engine

Wow! A thread that I actually fit into---

I fly my F-90 with an OS-1.60FX, V2 Pump, and 18x6 Bolly. Obviously it has "stupid" power but it actually flies "light" and floats in on landing or harrier style moves--- I would not hesitate to recommend this set-up to others, although prop. clearance can be an issue- I use the Hitec-645MG's (133 oz. torque) for my ailerons and elev. with a 945MG on rudder all with 6V, no regulator and have not had any problems.

I would bet the 120 2 stroke would have good power or a ST 2300 maybe... The 1.08 as mentioned can also be proficient if dialed in properly but the F-90 is a large aircraft and I also think it should be at least called "Funtana-100". I have read posts where folks have used the Evo-100 with success but I am doubting the unlimited performance with that powerplant. If you are serious about 3D consider the 160 set-up because as mentioned, the airframe weight seems to be pretty inconsistent, and these are always for sale in the Swap-shop with the pump, pitts muffler and everything for pretty reasonable..

Keep us posted!
