I am about to return my Supertigre .51 to the service center..but will wait for your response before I do so....
The reason I place this message here, is I too have a Twist 3D, and decided to put a Supertigre v.51 ringed engine in it. I hope some of you guys might be able to help me out here.
I bought this engine brand new two weeks ago....so far.....nothing but trouble.
The current issue with this enigne is, the engine will NOT pull fuel from the tank to the carb. The club flight instructor and I have checked and changed the fuel tubing...no result.
The tank was removed and temporarily held above the fuselage (to get it above the carb entree)...the engine fired up immediatley!!
Placed back in the fuselage, it will not pull fuel into the carb......
I use the standard muffler...no after market muffler or so.
When!! the engine is running...it gets way too hot too quick!!
Although the manual asks to break in the engine full throttle...this is not possible with this engine, since it will get so hot it
seizes....Different glowplugs were used to see if it made a difference...no result. Needles were adjusted cautiously....no result.
Carb and needles were checked for possible errors....they all seem to be fine!!
Both flight instructors have spent several hours checking this engine...both of them were unable to determine the error causing the engine not to pull fuel and the quick increase in temperature of the engine...[:@]
Both of the instructors however....use Supertigre engines themselves...flying a Twist 3D and a UcanDo 3D with no issues whatsoever.
I depleted my options for as far as resolving my problems with this engine. I have a OMP Katana on the shelves, waiting for an engine...right now, I am not sure if I will equip it as well with a Supertigre engine...
If you guys have advice for me (before I return it to the service center), PLEASE let me know.....[
