dutch, I know you probably have already checked this, but the pressure fitting on the muffler might be plugged. Remove the line to the muffler and blow in it. Fuel should run out the disconnected line on the carb. Another thing to check is for trash plugging the spray bar. Remove the high speed needle and check for blockage. It's running hot from too lean a fuel mixture. It's starving for fuel at high rpm's.
