There are plenty of real wheel assemblies on the market. They aren't expensive & they have all different sizes. So just go down to your LHS & find one that you like. You shouldn't have to re-hinge the rudder to set it up. Just be careful when drilling the whole in the rudder if you get the one that has a small torque-rod going up into the rudder from the bottom. This type will give you pretty good steering while on the ground as well. Good luck.
