Here is the situation:
I originally built this Falcon III as a Tri-gear but I switched the landing gear design to a solid steel as pictured instead of the music wire gears. While doing so, I didn’t realize that I needed to move the gears a little bit further back on the fuselage. While I had the front gear attached the weight in front was not enough to place the forward weight onto the front wheel so I had to redesign into a tail-dragger. The reason in doing this was because the plane was already nose-heavy so I could not put any more weight in the front to push the wheel to the ground. The only thing I had at hand was the tail-skid pictured , and I realize that in hard landings that it won’t do diddly, so can I have some recommendations to use in place of the skid (or a bigger skid available) that I can attach, preferably with a 1” wheel, without having to remove the rudder and re-hinge.
Thank you.

There are plenty of real wheel assemblies on the market. They aren't expensive & they have all different sizes. So just go down to your LHS & find one that you like. You shouldn't have to re-hinge the rudder to set it up. Just be careful when drilling the whole in the rudder if you get the one that has a small torque-rod going up into the rudder from the bottom. This type will give you pretty good steering while on the ground as well. Good luck.

Sullivan tailwheel assembly. I use them on all of my taildraggers. All the way from my Sig Something Extra to my 89" Super Decathlon. You can find them at Tower Hobbies, [link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFV47&P=0[/link]
