From: Center of the Flyover States,
Default Download and run a recording in G2

Better late than never. This is for those who want info on how to download and run recorded flights in G2.

But, so far I have been unsuccessful in recently downloading and running a G2 recording because I cannot get it unzipped. Something is wrong with my software as MS Media Player is popping up and getting in the way of the unzip procedure. But if you are able unzip win-files you should be able to run recordings by doing the following:

TO DOWNLOAD A RECORDING
Go to the website (www.Aero3d.net , http://zeus.rcwizard.com/fubar_hill/G2.htm or http://www.realflight.com/ find the listing for recordings and click on the recording that you want to download. You will be asked to save to disk and then the destination on your hard drive. The progression on your hard drive down to the appropriate destination should be……. C, Programs, Real Flight, Recordings. Click on Save to start the download. Wait for the download to end and click on OK.

Now you will need to unzip or extract the recording. To do this (I think) would be to call up Windows Explorer. Find the recording zipped file by following the same progression as above. Once there perform your procedure to unzip files. (My procedure does not work now). If this process leaves its own directory and the original zipped file you can delete these “extras” as long as an unzipped recording file remains in Real Flight’s “Recordings” directory.

TO VIEW A RECORDING
Open G2 and get it running.
At the top menu go to and click on:
Options ….then
Recordings……then
Check the box to show recordings for all airports …OK
Check the box for say “IMAC Sportsman”. Note the airport where recorded as you may want to go to that airport…….OK
Click on the “eye” to switch the view from your airplane to the recorded airplane.

To view the radio stick movements of the recorded airplane while its flying: click on
View……then
Gadget..then
Radio.
You can enlarge the radio by clicking on a corner, holding the click and dragging in or out.
Clicking on the gray bar above the radio and holding and dragging will move the radio to the best position.

Hope this helps. Now, does anyone have any idea on how I can defeat Windows MediaPlayer and unzip my downloaded recordings? As stated above, I can still run any previously downloaded recordings, but not any new ones.
