Yes, the Night Ranger 3D motor with 10-tooth pinions will give you the best of both attributes...fast spin-up on the tail rotor and higher maximum RPM. Both are critical for keeping the tail in place...without the 10-tooth pinions, the tail rotor will likely run out of RPMs at high head speeds (at least that was my experience with a Graupner 300 6V for the main, and dual 8-tooth tail motors). Give it a try...I think you'll find it to be significant improvement in tail authority. Here's a pic of my setup...
