For those of you interested in the dual tail mod, here is my experience with it:
Ok, I bought the dual tail mod from helidirect (18.00) and two esky motors (6.11 each). The hardest part of the installation by far was taking off the old tail motor harness. After that it was a breeze. Thanks to Vector and his wire schematic, I soldered the wires and it fired up right away. To see if both tail motors were engaging I applied a tiny amount of power without the tail gear and prop on.
Getting a good gear mesh with both motors was a little challenging, perhaps because I wanted it perfect. Flying the heli was way different. Had to spend a bit of time adjusting the 4-and-1. The tail had much more power and you can really hear it.
After flying for sixteen minutes, I found that the tail motors were warm. Before the mod, my tail motor would be hot to wicked hot. Some more tinkering with the 4-and-1 and now I have it flying like it was before the mod, but now no worries about hot tail motor failure. Yes it weighs more in the tail but I just adjusted the battery placement.
Flying for sixteen minutes and only warm tail motors is very nice. I bet these things last for a long time. I am completing a flight log to see.

Are those esky motors N30's & do they come with 8-tooth pinions? I have the dual tail motor mount from Helihobby with dual N30's and 10-tooth pinions on my #4 and it is AWESOME! (virtually no change in tail position, even with BIG throttle changes) It's even a big step up from dual N30's with the 8-tooth pinions...the only way I think it could be any better would be dual High Authority's with 10-tooths, but that would add a lot of weight at the tail. If you want to give my same setup a try sometime, get the Night Ranger 3D motors...they come unassembled with the 10-tooth pinions.

The E-sky tail motors are N30's and are 8 pinion.
So if you use the Night Ranger tail motor with a 10 tooth pinion, the tail should spin faster?

Yes, the Night Ranger 3D motor with 10-tooth pinions will give you the best of both attributes...fast spin-up on the tail rotor and higher maximum RPM. Both are critical for keeping the tail in place...without the 10-tooth pinions, the tail rotor will likely run out of RPMs at high head speeds (at least that was my experience with a Graupner 300 6V for the main, and dual 8-tooth tail motors). Give it a try...I think you'll find it to be significant improvement in tail authority. Here's a pic of my setup...

Orion,
Thanks for the info. Your tail mod looks great. I will try the Venom motors and pinions after my esky motors give out. It may be a while, they run cool.

thanks for the great pics. ill probably be copying your set up. my heli one it get into the air takes the name balde a little to seriously... my tail motor just completly drops out and it does uncontrolable 360s. im hopin its not the 4 in 1. A little mod i found.... The tail gear is quite flimsy so after the teether weree completly torn i took the main spur gear from the kyosho mini inferno and used it. even though is a bit smaller it gives higher rpms and more durabilty also the stock black fits perfectly the only problem is fittin the motor to mesh with the gear.. just though id share
