Bruce brings up a good point, but I think I found the page on Futabas site that shows you will be ok. It shows both current & discontinued radio models that are compatible with the Futaba Trainer cords available. Here are the charts, you will find your 6EXA as 6EX** which includes all combinations of the 6EX under current models, & your 6YF under discontinued models. They are both listed as Trainer cord compatible, but please read the note about modulation at the bottom of the chart because as Bruce said they do have to be set the same. I guess I just got lucky when I ordered mine because I did not know to check the modulation [X(]

I had a Futaba 6DA also discontinued & it worked with both my Tower 4ch & my Futaba 4ch that came with my RTF Tower & NexStar Trainers. I had to use the round to square cord. It looks like from the manual page that Bruce put up of your 6YF that you will need the very same cord unless you have a newer version of the 6YF than the one shown in the manual that has the new square plug on it. So again, look at the back of the radio to make sure you get the correct one.

The thing that truely baffled me was that whith the 4 ch radios as the Trainer box & the 6DA as the Student box, I still had high & low rates on the 6DA with the radio turned off, yet the Trainer radios don't even have dual rates on them. How on earth does that work???[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
