You can adjust how fast things happen in the simulator via the Physics Speed (%) in the Settings menu, or at least I have been told this. Too bad you can't do this at the field.

Bruce
i printed out the 400 page manual today at work in color (man it dose have some advantages working for a office equipment dealer wide format & color for plan reproduction etc) did the updates too should help they change some of the flight settings on all planes (trimmed them correctly) maybe it won't be such a fight to maintain level flight had to max out some of the trim settings still was climbing we will see don't have the expansion packs

I've never flown ANY of the simulators but someone once told me about how to slow the G# down because he had been calling the mfg to find out how to do it.

Only sims I've flown are Full scale/full motion, a bit different.

I don't know about the G3 sim, I am flying the G2 myself.
I have found that the PT40 trainer in G2 is more touchy and harder to fly than my Kadet Senior, which is good, if I can do it on the sim I have every confidence in doing it with my Kadet.
As far as speed of controls ect..
I changed the visual size to X3 and found that not only is it easier to see but it seems to respond slower. I know it is just visually different but it really helps.

Actually, we have both depending upon what department you work in. For guys like you Ken, we have a department where a bunch of monkeys smash computers with hammers and call them "fixed". Then they send a bill.

Did you say it's Friday?

Hey Guys just a FYI i you have or get the r\f G3 be sure to update and register it. Made a world of difference , Still Can't hit the runway ------ But we can see it now. I am either to high-- too low--too much to the left---too much to the right --- or in too many pieces . fun all the same fell asleep with the sticks in my hand the other night can you say -----ADDICTION !!!!!!!!!!!!
this thing sure saves me a ton of airplane parts

has anybody tried to use the budycord that comes with the unit as a real buddy cord it is made by Futaba and does work with there radios i going to have to give it a try [:-]

Doesn't that cord have a serial bus port plug on one end of it? If so how are you going to use it as a buddy cord? I haven't seen what you get with G3. I have G2 which has it's own controller, & NexStar which is just an interface cord that hooks up between Futaba radio, & puter. So unless G3 comes with just a regular buddy chord & an adapter plug from square Futaba to serial bus port for the puter, I really don't see how you could use it as a real buddy cord. The good news is, a real buddy cord only costs about 10 bucks. Actually they from $9.99 to $11.99 depending on which one you need.

Glad to hear you having fun now that you have got it working properly in your puter. Landing on the sim: Might I suggest what got me to finally start landing on the runway when first starting out with the sim. First of all I would set it to "look at ground" under view. This will keep both your plane & the ground in site for you. Then I just started trying to fly real small circuits, just one time around & try to land. By doing these very small circuits I never lost site of the runway therefore I wasn't trying to fish it out of sky when attempting to land. As I did this I started to notice landmarks on the screen where I was to turn on final & so on. Finding landmarks to help me remember where I was at in relationship to the runway allowed me to start venturing out further & further on these circuits until I knew the airport well enough to fly out at a more normal range.

If you're having trouble with the actual touching down of the airplane in your landings then you can break it down to one thing at a time rather than trying to learn it all at once. In other words, start out just taking off enough to become airborne & then back out of it a bit & try to gently float her back down to the ground just easing it in with very little throttle & gently flairing her with slight up elevator as she gets within a few ft of the runway. You can try practicing this over & over without ever leaving the runway area. This allows you to concentrate just on the landing part, instead of keeping track of your location, speed, elevation, approach & landing all at the same time. That will come later after you break it down & master each step individually so to speak. Then you can start putting it all back together again as you feel like it.

Good Luck, I hope this helps some.

no,there is a serial bus on the box it self but it also comes with a cord to hook up your real TX, using the usb box as the interface. comes with all the adapters for most TX's round .square.pin my two futabas use 6yg a round plug and the 6exas a square plug so with the sim you have to turn the power on the TX and run it thru the sim TX dual player port. Being that there is a din connector (i think that is the right type ex headphones small radio) between the adapters and the main cable you are only sending two lines of communication. (stereo speakers )don't think this will work so i went ahead and ordered the real cable just in case. i still haven't tried the other cable yet, just ain't had the time yet. hope to go flying this wk-nd [8D][8D] just checked tower order wont be in till the 10th guess we will have to use the hand off method if the cable don't work

If using the "hand off" method, be sure to keep some extra altitude to allow enough recovery time. Good flying to you.

I don't think we can give you a solo award for that one. It's supposed to be flyable when you're done. Nice try though considering what you have to work with.

You really do need to befriend an experienced pilot at the very least to help you with your learning curve.
