I'm with Rodney, put them in a container.......I use and old soup sized can with a lid.......and put in some cat sand. It's clay and it really soaks up the oil and fuel. I do the same thing if I've had a fuel tank leak and the wood is soaked. I just put cat litter in the fuse and let it stand for about a week and it's pretty dog-goned dry!
