I should also add this fact about compressed video. The faster the subject (read that as plane) and the more background you have, the more prone it is to visual glitches. The same compressed video of a plane sitting still on the ground can be as clear as the original, but if you tape it racing past a treeline, it will become blurry and 'pixely'.
