BW, I'm using the Jeti 90 and on the ground it will cut out if I run it to long, or even a short period at full throttle, the cut occurs after going back to idle, but never have had a problem in the air, I did setup a throttle cut switch just like on the glow motors and set to highest setting, which has always reactivated the throttle.
You may have something else going on sense you hear a POP but that could have been the spinner just coming off.
