Default Dead Stick ?

Never thought I've have a Dead Stick going electric but I had one yesterday... It happened at the top of an immleman coming out of the throttle, I heard like a pop and then no power meanwhile I see the spinner come off the airplane... I landed and discoverd that I really did still have some throttle however it did not come on untill over half stick.. I think this what Keith B experienced in Temple ? any Ideas would be appreciated.... here's my set up.. Hacker C50 XL 14 Hacker\Jeti Master 90-9-Acro controller TP4200's Futaba 14MZ and G3 Reciever.

BW, I'm using the Jeti 90 and on the ground it will cut out if I run it to long, or even a short period at full throttle, the cut occurs after going back to idle, but never have had a problem in the air, I did setup a throttle cut switch just like on the glow motors and set to highest setting, which has always reactivated the throttle.
You may have something else going on sense you hear a POP but that could have been the spinner just coming off.

Setup
C50-14XL
Jeti 90 ESC
TP 5300 2- 5S4P 5300
22X12 or 21X14 apc E

Sounds like the speed controller is shutting down for temp or amp issue. Try another speed controller, I'm using a Castle Creations HV 110 and 85 with out any problems and also have the down line breaking program loaded in them.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree that it sounds like the controller shut down, Temps have always been under 110 degrees F after a full flight.. I don't know about the amps recently anyway last time I checked it it was pulling 65 amps wide open..should be well under any shut down..
Iv'e been following the Castle Creations threads, It sounds like it's working well for y'all..thanks for the input..

BW:

Did you get the problem figured out?

This close to the NATS, I'm trying to prepare for any issue and problem resolution.

Thanks

Mike,
I think the problem is solved, seems the front bearing in the motor went out. This was causing the controller
to over amp. I had a spare motor and controller so he is running it and going to send he in to get fixed.

Does anyone have the numbers / measurements of the C50 motor (std & Comp) and gearbox bearings? I've ask Boca and they've no info for the Hacker, but might be able to provide bearings if given the specs.
