I too believe in the Sim. I practiced on the Sim a ton. It all payed off when I went to the field for the first time with the heli. I hovered the first time I took the sticks and in the same flight I started walking it up and down the runway.

The next week I took off in forward flight on the first flight. I have had the heli flying now for 3 weeks and I can do figure 8's and return to hover with out much difficulty.

Even if the Sim is not truly like the real thing (Like mine Not G2) It will still help you get your fingers and brain working in the right directions.

Also... If you can get someone that flys them now to look over it and do a trim flight for you that is the best. What an experienced person can do in 10 min would have taken me hours to learn on my own.
