I like OS engines. They seem to be reliable & good runners. I also have a Tiger Shark .56 that is a fantastic runner. My Tower Pro .46 however left my buddies Ultra Stik with an OS .46AX in it, in the dust!! He was not real happy as my Tower Trainer blew by him. At full throttle with both engines swinging an APC 11X6 prop I can first catch up to him then walk away from him with good authority.

We're not talking about barely edging past him, but blowing right by him, & no this isn't an old worn out AX engine either. It is a few months old & properly broken in. Another friend has a TT .46 that I am very impressed with. It runs excellent & it too produces great power, sounds great, idles very low & smooth. If I were in need of a new .46 size engine I would have to give the TT .46 some serious thought. While the OS .46AX is the most costly of the bunch I don't see it performing any better than the OS .46FXI that came in my NexStar.
I also have some very old OS engines that belonged to my Father. An OS .60, a 25FX, & a 1964 OS .10. The 60 & 25 are both about 25 to 30 yrs old & the 10 is 42 yrs old. All 3 eninges still run like champs. Which leads me to believe that while there are other less expensive engines available they may actually produce a little better power than it's OS counterpart, I doubt that any of them will out perform OS in quality & longevity. Ya gotta admit that a 42 yr old engine that fires right up & idles nice & smooth with great transition is pretty impressive as far as quality goes!![sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]
