One word of warning, these planes are famous for having tender landing gear. Keep your landing gentle or the landing gear will rip out.

When you put it together, you can run a layer of epoxy, a layer of fiberglass tape and another layer of epoxy, (all at the same time), over the firewall and all the way around the bottom of the fuse, over the LG mounts. Then, add triangle stock to the sides of the vent forward of the landing gear mount.
These planes are VERY sensitive to hangar rash, rough-handling and transport. The TD is only made of light balsa stringers and monokote.
You will have no trouble with this plane, it floats in and lands itself, the rest is up to you.
