A lot of the guys I fly with have radios with timers on them, but they choose not to use them. Is it a hassle, or unreliable to use the timer on the tx? I always wonder about that, because I was looking forward to getting a radio with a timer.

I have a whole gaggle of radios that I use to fly my planes with, but only one of them has a timer on it (Airtronics RD 6000). I only wish all of my radios had it on them, the rest I use the baking timer on. I have never had an ounce of problems with the timer that is built into the radio on the RD 6000. I know of a lot of pilots that don't use timers. I have never understood why they don't want to use them, but for whatever reason they prefer to fly without them. I guess it's as the saying goes "to each his own", and "different strokes, for different folks", and yada yada yada. You get the idea!!!
