Say it ain't so! You're converting, too? I always wanted an .010, but it looks like that ain't gonna happen without a miracle now.

Depending on the airframe involved, I'd guess you want to be somewhere between 10-25 watts. If you want to keep it on the cheap, the geared LPS systems from GWS are worth a look for a slower floaty type plane, they come in a couple different flavors depending on the motor type and voltage rating used. For a speedier airframe, a direct drive IPS motor would be a good cheap option, spinning a 3x2 or 3x3 on 2S lipos. There are a few brushless options for both geared and DD setups available from Medusa and Feigao as well. Take a look at www.bphobbies.com for the GWS and Feigao lines at a good price. I have used and like the Medusa 12mm 4000kv motor, but it's a little harder to find. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.
