If your wide open all the time you will only get 4.5 - 5 min. per charge, so yes the stock battery does suck, but when i started flying, it was on a styker and between all the crashes and fixes the battery was always peaked but when you start flying full packs 5 min just isn't enough, so go for the li-poly.
