I am new to RC and purchased a Stryker last week. I now have five very short flights under my belt with several crashes which is what I expected
. One thing that I noticed is the stock battery life is horrible. It may last about 5 minutes when fully charged. Is this normal and what other battery setup would you reccomend?
Thanks
Jim

If you are using the charger that came with the stryker, that is your problem. Goto your LHS and toss $50 on a real charger.

I use a couple of batteries other than the stock batteries that came with the Stryker:
1000 Mah NimH - 9 cell - 10.8V which is the battery that comes with the Parkzone Typhoon. Works great, plenty of power for higher speeds. Flights last about 12 minutes using some throttle control (not full throttle all the time)
2100 Mah Thunder Power Li-po - 3 cells, 11.1V. The Stryker comes alive with this battery and flies quite fast. I usually fly it for about 18 minutes since I use the stock ESC and I'm afraid I might drive the voltage beyond the 3v limit.
I use the li-po prop with both of the above batteries. I'm still on my first motor and I fly quite a bit every week.
Hope the above helps.

If your wide open all the time you will only get 4.5 - 5 min. per charge, so yes the stock battery does suck, but when i started flying, it was on a styker and between all the crashes and fixes the battery was always peaked but when you start flying full packs 5 min just isn't enough, so go for the li-poly.

My parkzone charger works fine. I get about 6-7 minutes on full WOT.
I fly WOT all of the time, the Stryker just seems too slow at everything. I'm on maxed throws and I think it's slow.[>:]
