It all depends on what you want to accomplish. "starting" with an electric isn't a requirement, infact most nitro helis like the Raptor and Hirobo EVO are easier to fly as they are more stable and have much more power than a micro electric.

If you plan on flying outdoors in the wind and such a small nitro such as a 30 or 50 size is probably the way to go.

http://www.heliproz.com has great combos and everyone that picks up the phone there flys, they will put you together something to fit your budget and expectations.
