It's fairly universal to put the elevator and rudder on the right stick for rudder/elevator gliders and any that don't have ailerons. And it's often popular to put the spoiler on the throttle stick.
A buddy of mine went against convention years ago and put the rudder function where it usually is. He did this from day one as he started out flying gliders. He said that he planned to learn to fly more than just rudder/elevator airplanes and figured it was more logical to have the rudder control where it was going to be on most models. Turns out that when he started flying models with ailerons, he had about 10 minutes of acclimation and from then on was good to go. Matter of fact, when he started flying power, he used the rudder like a pro whereas a lot of guys never learn to use it.
