You've got a few options. Probably the best is to, pack up your Q40's in 2 card-board boxes with plenty of bubble wrap and ship them out there via FedEx. That's what I do... However, when I travel overseas we don't ship our stuff. We take it with us on the airplane and pay the $600 oversize/excess baggage charges. I use the sportube snowboard case to hold the wings. It's adjustable in length as well, kind of nice. Works like a champ. I use an aluminium box to crate the fuses. Huge pain in the ***** carry all that stuff through the airport... Expecially coming home going through customs.

But for the US travel. I'd just ship your stuff a week or so in advance, in card-board boxes.
