Default Engine for trainer?

..I have the OS 40 on my trainer and have no problem with it.
I do have to run it full bore though.
The wing on most Trainers generate so much lift that I can't see where flying any of them at full throtle is really necessary.

don't confuse the performance of a trainer with a sport type models.

I'm able to loop and roll at 1/2-3/4 throtle on a trainer that weighs in the 5lb range. Don't relie too much on power learn to fly the plane on the wing.

My instructor way back when did two consecutive loops with my eaglet 50 AFTER the engine flamed out just to prove how much lift the average trainer wing can generate.

I believe that alot of models are being made to fly on the engine instead of the wing.

Try this test take you trainer up to 150-200 feet then idle and attempt a landing pattern I'll bet you will be surprised (after a little practice) how little altitude you actually lose
