Default RE: Gas Engine for 3D?

ORIGINAL: Walt and Sage

If I were you I would go with the new GREAT PLANES "Yak 54" ($399)
and the Brillelli 46 WITH the mag.. ($250 with pitts style muffler)
The light 50/55cc are TO LIGHT and the plane is very tail heavy,
(so I have read)..

This is the combination I am going to use...

What do you expect your all up weight to be with ~1,1XX sq in of wing area? Do you think you are going to be looking at a solid 14 pounds?

If your airframe is less than 1200 sq in and the light 50/55cc are not heavy enough to balance than it my be better to go with a different airframe if your goal is 3D. For instance, the H9 260 or the GP Cap 232 or the UL Giles work work.
