Default RE: pitts muffler problem

Thanks guys:
I made up a spacer from some old landing gear (from a crashed Morris hobbies Balsa Nova ARF) I had laying around. Gotta love a DREMEL.
Turned out great. I now have about a 2mm space between the muffler and engine mount.
Your suggestions of grinding for clearance would probably have worked out without compromising the integrity of the mount, but i feel better .
It also gave me more clearance for the throttle pushrod.
All this work going into my new CMPro 75.5" Corsair.
The cool thing is the entire engine and muffler will fit into the cowl with only the exhaust stacks exiting the bottom which I will probably cut off flush with the cowl in case of nose over!!
It just IRKS me to no end that a muffler DESIGNED for this application would not fit properly in regards to engine mounts. They do realize that a 1.00 engine would require a wider mount than a .40 DON"T they?????
Now I have to enter another post about Evolution Engines.
Happy Flying!!!!!!!!
