Well that all depends. Both ways you described will work, you want a flat top and let the natural dihedral of the root to tip taper be all that there is. How much is in the wing? because it will affect the wing bolt exit locations so you may have to open these up and use an insert to get the correct angles. Or new blocks in the fuse and redrill and tap.
What kit is it? It may not be worth the trouble...
