Yeah 1/4" is WAY to big for a 50cdc plane and you can save the little bit of weight too... I think I used 5/32" on mine

Its not the cost of a set of wheels that concerns me. I received 1/4" axles with the kit and I am having a hard time finding a set of 3" wheels that can be drilled out to 1/4". I guess I will just buy smaller axles.
