Default RE: CT-114 TUTOR ALMOST DONE!

David,

Test flights on my Tutor went very well! This is undoubtedly the best, most fun flying jet I have ever owned! Glides forever! Very precise in its handling. Beautiful presentation in the sky! You really couldn't ask for a better scale jet for everyday flying!

The only change needed is to move the balance point in front of the wing tube. Mine balanced right at the wing tube and flew slightly tail heavy. Overly sensitive to the elevator with a tendency to drop the tail on landing approach without power. I added another 1lb 1/2 to the nose and it flew perfectly!

My day, however, ended badly, when, after a deadstick landing, the rear fuse caught fire while sitting on the runway, and was consumed before I could reach it with a fire extinguisher. Everything from just rear of the wings was destroyed. I hope to be able to order a replacement fuse and stab from Peter and rebuild, as after flying this one, I really can't imagine not having this Tutor in my hangar!
