RE: How do I get into racing??
I would suggest getting a kit first off. Since your going to be racing you need to learn how to tear the car apart and put in back together fast. You will break parts so have a spare or two. I use a fishing tackle box to carry my parts and tools around. That way things are seperated and if you keep everything organized then you will be able to find a tool/part with out even looking or taking the time to think where it's at. I keep the most importatnt parts/spares up top and the lesser needed tools/spares lower down. You can keep everything you would need including 2 or 3 engine's. I have had up to 4 engine's in my box and still had room for more. The point is you will be able to carry everything you will need for a nitro in the box. Besides the fuel/radio and car. Thats the only thing's you will have to carry separately.
As for starting out electric or nitro it doesnt matter. I started out nitro but you will have to be patient and learn how things go. Just to tell you electrics are just as expensive as nitro's are so dont get an electric and think it's going to be cheaper then the nitro. But any ways get a good engine. Now this does not mean the most expensive engine just look at what everybody is using. Get a good radio and servo's and you basically will be set.
It will take some learning and time. Dont get frusterated if you dont go out there and kick but. Because most likely you wont go out and win or maybe even finish the first time. And just be consistant and use your head when racing. I cant tell you how many times a newb makes a bone head move and takes out 3 or 4 guys at one time. This does not make you friends at the track and when your new to racing that takes away valuable people that may help you. I hope this helped.
