Default Prop Saver O-Ring/Rubber Bands

What size O-Ring would you recommend for a prop saver? My rubber band broke and I realized I don't have a replacement. Or, what kind of rubber bands?

Should these break often? I tried a couple of the rubberbands that came with my SS and those sheared off after about 5 seconds. Maybe I didn't have them tight enough.. *shrug*
