The obvious solution is to keep the plane from crashing. I have used one of these on a foamie, but I just don't bother anymore. Just cut the throttle before the nose touches-down and your prop will last forever, even with no LG, like mine.

I fly Charger CR-1's (without landing gear) every single day and the only time I ding a prop is if I forget to cut throttle completely on landing....UM....or fall out of a low hover AND forget to cut throttle...OR.....just plain nose it in (in that case a 'prop saver' won't help anyway).

But really those 'prop-savers' are more trouble that they are worth IMHO. Just keep the prop from hitting ground and you'll be fine.
