In a moment of boredom, I picked up my Twinstar and thought...Hmmmmmmmm. ...how about some more power? That would mean buying at least one more engine, so why not bolt one that I already have on the nose???? I know it has been done before....but with a mixture of 2 strokes and 4 strokes??????????? Two OS 26 fourstrokes on the wings, and an OS 25FX in the nose ! The installation was pretty easy..Hobbico even left a vacant servo mount for the new throttle servo! the center fuel tank went over the cg..the battery got exchanged for a bigger, heavier one and moved as far back in the fuselage as I could fit it....it still required 8 oz of lead on the tail.
But it flies!!....and flies great - even with the increased weight... the climbout is something else!! Big loops are now possible, and snap roll...WOW!!!! Not for the faint of heart, but it sure is fun to fly!!! Now that I know it works, I'll clean it up a bit...and take some close up pictures... for now you have to be satisfied with this "spy photo"......
One benefit noted tonight...two flights...two engine outs.......and it didn't matter!! It still flies well on any two................
