Hey Flap on the Saito you can turn the carb 180 deg and give your self and inch or so (this may help)
All I have are Saitos and NONE of them ever give me trouble running installed inverted it's a myth .
Tank hight is important but other than that they all run great, and in that Cub I bet you won't have to chop up the cowl.
