What about using it as a candidate for Geared Twin, leave the funky front alone and slap a pinion gear on. Looks like it has a stubby bearing pin shaft nut/extension in the lower picture to facilitate Gear-ification.

Might have a better chance of keeping them 36k rpms if it is really low torqued in geared use.

Yes, the ball bearings make it an ideal candidate. And hey, how about one of these in an electric heli conversion?
