The Hammer is a good starter boat and can be upgraded to go faster. But if you are trying to make it go as fast as the Super Vee then you are talking about some serious work and money. If you want something you can start out with and learn about major upgrading then the Hammer is the one to learn on. If you want something that is very fast right out of the box and with small simple upgrades you can tweak and increase performance then the Super Vee is the one. Just remember the Super Vee is faster than your average beginner boat. Ask yourself if you have the selfcontrol to keep your finger off the trhottle till you get used to it.
