No pattern and IMAC are different.
Under IMAC, the only limitation is that the plane should be a scaled version of a full scale plane that is used in aerobatic competition. Under Pattern, there are limitations on the weight of the plane (11lbs) and the wingspan of the plane (2 meters).
We use the same language and maneuvers but the rules for flight is different.
