MinnFlyer,
It is Markham Park.
There is a photo gallary and they seem to have a great club.
I would have loved to seen Nu Nu's Corsair before the crash.

Bev, do you fly at Markham Park? If so, you have a very nice field. I was there last January to review a Seaplane (The water is kinda hard here in January)

MinnFlyer: Yes, I fly at Markham. For those who don't know, we have a 750 x 50 ft runway and about 55 acres, plus about a 1/2 mile down in the park is the lake where the float planes fly. We can see them airborne from our pavillion (FBO).
Geistware: NuNu's plane was crashed in April or May I believe...it has been rebuilt and there are more postings of it online here...the confusion came because the photographer posted the current shots before the crash series.
flyingrog & Digger44: Yes, it's a world model Sky Raider Mach I. I've added black stripes to the underside so I can see it in the air...very pretty on the ground, but it's stealth against the sky.

We'd be in real trouble if we lost sight of this! We're now into basic aerobatics stage - loops, rolls, inverted passes, immelmanns, cuban eights. As soon as I can afford a new radio we'll get our UltraStick 40 ARF assembled and try out those quad flaps.

Did you see the LT-40 I built over in my [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3439708/tm.htm]LT-40 Build Thread[/link]??? Definitely hard to loose it in the sky!!! Trust me!!! You have to wear sunglasses when you fly it!!! [8D] It's so bright even the plane needed to wear shades!!! [X(]

Hey NuNu, you realize that if I get a warbird, I'm going to end up having to fill out a lot of N.A.S.A. forms. First I need to learn how to fly that old taildragger stick plane that Randy gave me. (the one that we put Stu's wife's old OS61 motor in) The throttle idle needs to be tweaked before I can (attempt to) fly it.

Geistware,
Yes, I bring my laptop and multimedia phone with me. I'm a Realtor, so I never know when I'll need to access the internet for business. Here is what yesterday brought at the park. I flew Eddie's 46% Ultimate Biplane around the sky and did 2 loops. And to think, I posted a NOTAM out there on May 18th warning people about my first lesson:
2006/05/18 09:53 METAR
KMPF 180953Z 33006KT 10SM CLR 19/14 A2989
2006/05/18 TFR
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT WITHIN A 3 MILE RADIUS OF MARKHAM PARK BELOW 1000 FEET DUE TO INTENSIVE TRAINING OF FEMALE STUDENT PILOT.

Bev,
I am thinkinig you have soloed by now so this notice should no longer be in effect.
You need to start hanging out with the IMAC guys tehn you can spend some serious money on this new habit that you have.
So how did you like the Ultimate?

Hi rhowardsta,
Thanks! I've gotten tons of support from the pilots out at my field. What a great bunch of guys! Yes, definitely look up Markham Park in Sunrise (west of Ft Lauderdale...and in the flight path of KFLL) when you are down here. It's a great field and a great group of people.

Geistware,
The NOTAM was up for my first lesson on May 18th, and stayed up a week or so. Yes, I have been flying solo since about the second week of June, (including fueling, starting, and carrying my own plane to the taxiway.) I had spotters talk me through landings after that, and I still like having a spotter give me pointers on landings in crosswinds, etc. This past week we had 10-20 mph winds. It was excellent practice for me. Besides, some of the best pilots & trainers out there have given their time to help me. Now if I can conquer my fear of right pattern, I'll be O.K. Speaking of IMAC, some of the IMAC pilots are trying to persuade me to go that route. And, I loved flying the Ultimate. No takeoffs or landings...just flying and loops. A very responsive plane though. I had to keep remembering not to give it too much up elevator. It goes exactly where you put it. I wasn't too nervous because Eddie, the owner, is one of our best pilots. Since I knew he was there to hand the radio to if I got in trouble, I was fine.

IMAC is the path I took. I like it and you can definitely see your abilities improve over time.
I remember the day that wind correction clicked in my mind. I hated to fly in the wind until it clicked how to wind correct in loops, verticals, horizontal flight and anything but stall maneuvers. Now I seldom fly out too far. I have been practicing doing 4 and 8 point rolls. I know what to do, I know how to do them, but my thumbs don't make it happen. I know one day it will snap and I will not have any problems, then comes rolling circles. They are not worth many points but sure looks good when done right.
